economies were Hong Kong, United States,
Singapore, Sweden and Switzerland where
these economies were characterised by highly
sophisticated and innovative companies, strong
R&D collaboration between the business sector
and universities as well as supported by world
class infrastructure. Malaysia was ranked 5 th
position ahead of China, New Zealand, Korea,

competitiveness input factors namely, Economic
Performance, Government Efficiency, Business
Efficiency and Infrastructure as well as their subfactors.
