crude palm oil and the implementation of some of<br />

the agriculture Entry Point Projects (EPPs) such as<br />

swiftlet breeding, herbal cultivation, aquaculture<br />

and large scale commercial farming with anchor<br />

companies spearheading these farming activities.<br />

Construction sector<br />

<strong>Productivity</strong> growth of the construction sector grew<br />

by 3.1% to RM24,635 in 2011 from RM23,898 in 2010<br />

(Figure 1.14). The growth was supported by active<br />

construction activities especially in Greater Kuala<br />

Lumpur and Klang Valley (GKL/KV). The growth<br />

in the residential and non-residential sub-sectors<br />

also contributed to the sector’s performance. The<br />

implementation of Industrialised Building System<br />

(IBS) in major projects in the Kuala Lumpur City<br />

area as an on-going activity also contributed<br />

to the improvement in the productivity of the<br />

construction sector.<br />

Mining sector<br />

Mining is the only sector to record decline in<br />

productivity growth of 6.1% to RM866,246 in<br />

2011 from RM922,914 in 2010 (Figure 1.15). The<br />
