Liszt sent round one Sunday morning to say that he

instrument behind us,' said Liszt; 'and I am sorry
to confess that having, as youngsters will do, got into
debt a little while after, I sold it. Later on the
Broadwoods gave me another instrument, and this I
still possess. It is in the keeping of the Princess
