Dear Miss Walker,
We have always preserved a friendly recollection of you,
and we have ever felt pleasure in thinking of you. Beethoven's
hair, which our dear grandmother herself cut from his head
several days before his death, and the pen with which he wrote
the last word, also the other named relies, are yet in our posses-
sioD, and we hope never to part from these precious mementoes.
We have been much interested in hearing of your boot, and
should much like to know how you have fared since you left
Weimar.
