Heartbeat I/F tab You can add, delete and change heartbeat interfaces. Section I Detailed functions of ExpressCluster Parameter details Heartbeat interfaces used by ExpressCluster are listed in Heartbeat I/F Priority. Heartbeat interfaces that are not in use are listed in Available I/F. Types of heartbeat devices are as follows: (2) (1) Heartbeat devices types are displayed on this tab as follows: Heartbeat device type Type How to display in Available I/F 2 Interconnect for LAN heartbeat (kernel mode) KLAN Add to “Interconnect LAN I/F tab.” Public LAN heartbeat (kernel mode) (1) Interconnect for LAN heartbeat (kernel mode) (2) Public LAN heartbeat (kernel mode) � If one or more servers are defined, you have to define at least one LAN interface in Heartbeat I/F Priority. It is recommended to specify two or more LAN interfaces. � The priority order of the LAN heartbeat for interconnect should be set higher than that of public LAN heartbeat. You can adjust the order by using the Up and Down buttons after adding the priority order of the LAN heartbeat for interconnect to the Heartbeat I/F Priority. � Two or more kernel mode LAN heartbeat resources and shared kernel mode LAN heartbeat resources for interconnect and public are recommended to be specified. 2 Numbers you see in I/F No. cells are those you specified on each tab in Server Properties. 119
