Section III Maintenance information
Changing the server configuration (add/delete)
• Information on the switchable partition of the server to add which is displayed on the
Details tab of Properties of the disk resource.
• IP address of the server to add on the Parameter tab of Properties of the Nic Link
Up/Down monitor resource (when using the Nic Link Up/Down monitor resource).
Important:
On the HBA tab of Properties of the server to add, set the SCSI controller and the HBA
connected to the shared disk to be filtered. If the shared disk is connected when it has not
been set to be filtered, data on the shared disk may be corrupted.
11. Connect to another server in the cluster via the Web browser to start the WebManager, and
suspend the cluster. When the server group configuration has been changed, stop the cluster.
12. Select Upload the Configuration File from the File menu of the Builder, and reflect the
cluster configuration data to the cluster.
• When the message “There is the disk information that is not configured. Are you sure
you want automatic configuration?” appears, select Yes.
13. Resume the cluster after restarting the Manager with the WebManager. If the cluster has
been stopped, start it.
Note:
If the cluster is resumed by using the WebManager, the message “Failed to resume the
cluster. Click the Reload button, or try again later.” is displayed, but ignore it. This
message is displayed because the server to add is not suspended.
14. Restart the service of the added server with the WebManager. When Off is selected for Auto
Return in Cluster Properties, recover the cluster by using the WebManager manually.
15. Return the added server with the WebManager to the cluster.
16. Move group as necessary.
Deleting a server
To delete a server, follow the steps below:
1. From the WebManager, stop the server to delete, close all the connections including LANs,
SCSIs and COMs.
Important:
When the shared disk is used, take the following steps after closing all the connections to
the shared disk completely. If a connection to the shared disk is kept after uninstalling
ExpressCluster, data on the shared disk may be corrupted.
2. Make sure that the cluster is working properly. (However, ignore errors in the server to be
deleted.)
3. Run the “clpcl --suspend --force” command at the command prompt, and suspend only the
server that has been started.
4. When the server to be deleted is registered in a server group, right-click the server group in
the tree in the left pane of the Builder, and then select Properties. Delete the target server
from Servers that can run the Group in the Server Groups tab.
5. Right-click the server to delete on the tree in the left pane of the Builder, and select Remove
the server.
