Section I Detailed functions of ExpressCluster
Operating the cluster (clpcl command)
 Suspend and Resume
When you want to update the cluster configuration data or ExpressCluster, you can stop the
ExpressCluster service while continuing the operation. This status is called “suspend.”
Returning from the suspended status to normal status is called “resume.”
Suspend and resume are executed to all servers in the cluster. When you suspend the cluster,
the ExpressCluster service should be activated in all servers in the cluster.
The following functions stop when the cluster is suspended because the ExpressCluster
service stops while active resources stay active.
• All heartbeat resources stop.
• All network partition resolution resources stop.
• All monitor resources stop.
• You cannot work on groups or group resources (start, stop, or move).
• You cannot display or change the cluster status by the WebManager or with the clpstat
command.
• The following commands are disabled;
- clpstat
- clpcl options other than --resume
- clpdown
- clpstdn
- clpgrp
- clptoratio
- clpmonctrl
