Recovering a suspended server (with unresolved network
partition)
Section III Maintenance information
Troubleshooting
Since activating the same group is prevented on multiple servers, the group cannot be started. A
server is suspended (with unresolved network partition) when all the conditions below are met.
- There are two or more network partition resolution resources of the DISK method.
- An error has occurred in the network partition resolution resource of the DISK method, and
network partitioning cannot be resolved.
- Network partitioning or failure of a server occurred.
Perform the following steps to recover the suspended server.
1. If network partitioning occurred, recover all the heartbeat resources to the normal status. To
check if the network partition has occurred, refer to “When network partitioning occurs.”
2. Shut down the whole cluster by using the WebManager or the clpstdn command.
3. Start all the cluster servers.
4. Recover the network partition resolution resource of the DISK method with an error. For
how to recover, refer to “When a network partition resolution resource error is detected.”
5. If a suspended server (rebooted after shutdown) exists, recover the server by using the
WebManager and the clpcl command.
