Monitoring errors on the connection to the shared<br />

resources (armwhshr command)<br />

armwhshr.exe: the armwhshr.exe command monitors errors on the connection to the shared<br />

name.<br />

Command line:<br />

armwhshr.exe share-name ip-addr [/INT time] [/LOG log-strings]<br />

[/PROC exec-name parameter-1 parameter-2 ... parameter-n]<br />

Description<br />

Parameter<br />

This command monitors errors on the connection to the shared name.<br />

It checks if the ping is reached to the specified shared name server or<br />

monitors the connection error to the shared name. It registers the event<br />

log (ID:3514) when the ping is reached normally and an error occurred<br />

while connecting to the shared name.<br />

However, the event log is not registered when the connection error is<br />

already detected. It is registered when the status of connection changes<br />

from normal to error.<br />

With options, this command sends messages to the WebManager and<br />

starts specified executable files.<br />

share-name Specifies a shared name (UNC name).<br />

ip-addr Specifies the IP address of a server that<br />

possesses shared name.<br />

/INT time<br />

Specifies monitoring interval (by the second).<br />

The range which can be specified is from 30<br />

through 86400. This parameter is optional.<br />

When omitted, 180 (sec) is set <strong>for</strong> the interval.<br />

/LOG log-strings Specifies the character string to be reported to<br />

the WebManager when an error occurs on the<br />

connection to a shared name. It is reported to<br />

the WebManager every time an error on the<br />

connection to the shared name is detected.<br />

Maximum of 111 bytes can be specified <strong>for</strong> the<br />

string. If the string includes spaces, enclose it in<br />

double quotation marks. When you use the<br />

double quotation marks in the strings, describe<br />

them with \ (\”). This parameter is optional.<br />

/PROC exec-name Specifies the name of an executable file that is<br />

started when an error occurs on the connection<br />

to the shared name. The executable file is<br />

started when the status of shared name<br />

connection changes from normal to abnormal.<br />

This parameter is optional.<br />

parameter-n This parameter is passed to the executable file.<br />

This parameter is optional.<br />
