Personal Statement: Being able to participate in FGLSAMP was a great opportunity. It allowed me to
build social connections with my peers that had similar goals and aspirations. This fostered an
atmosphere of encouragement and support. Studying and sharing ideas with individuals with the same
or similar academic goals challenged me to put forth my best effort in order to insure my success.

opportunities to increase my knowledge of the sciences; which ultimately, led me to pursue my Masters

Personal Statement: Currently I am a graduate student at Drexel University studying Molecular
Medicine and I have just been accepted to a Co-op position, at GlaxoSmithKline, as a research tech in
safety assessment and toxicology. It was through the FGLSAMP program that I was exposed to the
opportunities in consider a career in scientific research.
