Margaret Ramos Miller (’14) is currently a sophomore at Purdue<br />
University West Lafayette studying<br />
Biology. During her freshman year, Maggie<br />
conducted LSAMP research under the<br />
tutelage of Dr. Claudio Aguilar. During the<br />
2011 Springbreak, Maggie traveled to Las<br />
Delicias, El Salvador where she assisted in<br />
various renovations and health related<br />
projects through the Foundation of<br />
International Medical Relief of Children. In<br />
December 2011, Maggie will accompany her faculty mentor, Dr.<br />
Aguilar, to Denver, Colorado, to present their research at the<br />
American Society for Cell Biology Annual Meeting.<br />
David Rankine (’13) is a junior at Purdue University West<br />
Lafayette pursuing a degree in Aerospace Engineering. David<br />
chose to pursue a degree in Aerospace<br />
Engineering because, after receiving his<br />
piloting license while in high school, he<br />
developed an interest in aircraft designs<br />
and engines. After graduation, David<br />
plans to pursue a Master’s degree in<br />
Aerospace Engineering with a focus in<br />
Systems Engineering.<br />
Ebony Riggins ('13) is studying human biology at Indiana<br />
University Bloomington. She is a member of<br />
the Hudson & Holland Scholars program, a<br />
member of the Minority Association for Pre-<br />
Med Students (M.A.P.S.), and is the historian<br />
of both the Women of Color Leadership<br />
Institute (WOCLI) and Delta Sigma Theta<br />
Sorority, Inc. Ebony plans on attending either<br />
medical school or graduate school after<br />
graduating.<br />
Shira Riggs (’08) graduated from<br />
IUPUI in 2008 with a B.A. in Biology.<br />
She is currently pursuing a M.S and<br />
plans to attend Dental School.<br />
Christina Robinson ('12) is studying<br />
psychology and neuroscience at IU<br />
Bloomington. She is a member of the Hudson<br />
& Holland Scholars Program and is currently<br />
doing research at the IU School of Optometry<br />
under Dr. Ann Elsner. Christina plans on<br />
attending the IU School of Optometry upon<br />
graduating.<br />
Arbara Rogers (’08) received a B.A. in<br />
Psychology from Indiana University<br />
Bloomington in 2008. She researched<br />
social and language development as part of<br />
her LSAMP research project and currently<br />
is employed by Cummins as a Behavioral<br />
Health as a Life Skills Specialist. Arbara<br />
earned a M.A. in Mental Health<br />
Counseling from the University of Indianapolis in 2011.<br />
Lauren Santiesteban (’11) graduated Phi Beta<br />
Kappa from Indiana University Bloomington<br />
with a double-major in Biochemistry and<br />
Anthropology. She served as a peer-mentor and<br />
tutor for the IU LSAMP program for several<br />
years. Currently, Lauren is studying medicine at<br />
New York University.<br />
Dario Santos (’15) is currently a student at Ivy Tech Community<br />
College studying Mechanical<br />
Engineering Technology. Dario<br />
was a participant in the LSAMP<br />
Indiana first cohort of LINK<br />
scholars and from his experiences<br />
with the program, he has made a<br />
commitment to continue his<br />
education at Purdue University<br />
West Lafayette after he completes<br />
his A.S.<br />
Elisio Sapata (’12) is a senior at Indiana<br />
University majoring in psychology with minors in<br />
political science and Spanish. After graduation, he<br />
plans on attending law school to study<br />
international law.<br />
Monica Schuring ('13) is studying psychology at Indiana<br />
University. After graduation she plans to<br />
attend law school and one day have a private<br />
firm. At Indiana University she is a Hudson<br />
& Holland Scholar, a LSAMP peer mentor,<br />
and Phi Alpha Delta pre-law fraternity<br />
member. Additionally, Monica contributes<br />
to the local community by working a part<br />
time job and being an active volunteer at<br />
Bloomington's Middle Way House for<br />
battered women and children.<br />
Linda Senbanjo (’12) is currently a senior at Indiana University<br />
Bloomington studying Biology. Linda place 3 rd<br />
in the Oral<br />
presentations at the LSAMP Indiana 2010<br />
Annual Research Conference and is the<br />
coauthor of a publication entitled “Bone<br />
Resorption in Syndromes of the RAS/MAPK<br />
Pathway.” Post-graduation, she plans to apply<br />
for a MD/ PhD program to further her research<br />
in the field of medicine with an emphasis on<br />
cancer research.<br />
Aditya Shah (’09) graduated from Indiana University Northwest<br />
with a B.S. degree in Chemistry and minor<br />
in Biology in 2009. Aditya is currently<br />
completing his third year of medical school<br />
at the Indiana University School of<br />
Medicine-Indianapolis. While at IU<br />
Northwest, Aditya worked on various<br />
research projects. He was funded by the<br />
LSAMP for a research project testing water<br />
samples in Lake Michigan for human contamination.<br />
