Jermaine Barker is double alumni of Howard University<br />

with a Master’s of Science in<br />

August 2011 specializing in<br />

Molecular Genetics and a<br />

Bachelor’s of Science in Biology in<br />

May 2003. During his<br />

undergraduate years from 2000 to<br />

2003, Mr. Barker was involved in<br />

numerous activities such as being a tutor coordinator for Hyde<br />

leadership public charter school. He was actively involved in<br />

tutoring and mentoring failing middle and high school<br />

students improve grades and get prepared for college.<br />

Ms Neiunna Jones is attending Howard University pursuing<br />

her Ph.D. in Biology with an emphasis in<br />

Microbiology. She has been a recipient of<br />

the Teaching Assistantship award though<br />

her tenure as a doctoral student. She is also<br />

a member of the American Society of<br />

Microbiology (ASM), Edward A. Bouchet<br />

Graduate Honor Society, and an Associate<br />

Member of the Howard University Chapter<br />

of Sigma Xi. In addition to doctoral research she serves as a<br />

mentor for undergraduate students in the Howard University<br />

Science, Engineering, and Mathematics program (HUSEM)<br />

funded by the National Science Foundation.<br />

Dr. Eric Toran, who currently serves as an Associate<br />

Professor and Associate Dean in the<br />

School of Allied Health Sciences at<br />

Florida A&M University, Tallahassee,<br />

FL, received his master’s and doctorate<br />

degrees in Biology from Howard<br />

University in 1992 and 1996,<br />

respectively. Prior to his faculty<br />

appointment, Dr. Toran served as a<br />

Postdoctoral Research Associate at the University Of<br />

Nebraska Medical Center (Omaha, Nebraska). He is currently<br />

responsible for the management and instruction of Gross<br />

Anatomy, Neuroanatomy, and Pathophysiology.<br />

Herman W. W. Fennell II is currently a Ph.D. candidate at<br />

Howard University. He will receive<br />

his degree in 2012. He is conducting<br />

research on Oryza sativa scaffold<br />

protein Receptor for Activated C<br />

Kinase 1 (RACK1) Mediated<br />

Environmental Stress Signaling<br />

Pathways. He has presented his<br />

research internationally. Herman received his bachelor’s<br />

degree in 1999 and master’s degree in 2003 from North<br />

Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University in<br />

Animal Health Science. He is a member of the American<br />

Society of Plant Biologist and Sigma Xi.<br />

Dr. Noel Manyindo completed his B.S. degree at Howard<br />

University in 2003. He later<br />

completed his M.D. and MBA<br />

degrees at Howard in 2007. He is<br />

currently at Harvard working on his<br />

MPH. This degree is expected in<br />

2012. Dr. Manyindo’s research<br />

interests are Health Disparities,<br />

Major Depression, Diabetes, Obesity, and HIV Prevention.<br />

His career interests are Primary Care Medicine, Communitylevel<br />

Public Health Interventions, Social Medicine, and Global<br />

Health & Academic Medicine.<br />

Dr. Kareematulai Arogundade is currently a medical<br />

resident in the field of Occupational<br />

and Environmental Medicine at the<br />

University of Texas Health Science<br />

Center in Tyler Texas. She received<br />

her B.S in Biology in 2001 from<br />

Howard University, her M.D in 2006<br />

at Howard University College of<br />

Medicine and her M.S in Environmental science in 2011 from<br />

Steven F. Austin University. She is a member of the American<br />

College of Preventive Medicine, the American College of<br />

Occupational and Environmental Medicine, Phi Beta Kappa<br />

scientific honor society and Beta Kappa chi scientific honor<br />

society.
