Vinay Ramsay graduated from Virginia State University in<br />

May of 2011 with a Bachelor’s of Science<br />

degree in Biology. During his time at VSU, he<br />

presented research at the VSU undergraduate<br />

research conference in 2010 and 2011. He is<br />

currently a 2nd Leiutenant in the US Army.<br />

Nakiesha "Danielle" Bridgers graduated from Virginia<br />

State University in May of 2007 with a<br />

B.S. degree in Biology. Currently, she<br />

is pursuing her Doctorate in Fisheries<br />

and Wildlife at Clemson University.<br />

While an undergradute at VSU she was<br />

an LSAMP scholar (2006-2007) and<br />

conducted a research on Bunchgrass Lizards in Arizona. She<br />

co-authored a publication of this research in the peer reviewed<br />

journal, Herpetological Review.<br />

Desmond Crawley graduated from Virginia State University<br />

in May of 2011 with a Bachelor’s of<br />

Science degree in Psychology. He was<br />

accepted into the Master of Divinity<br />

program at Virginia Union University<br />

School of Theology. He will begin the<br />

program in the Spring semester of 2012.<br />

While an undergraduate student, Desmond<br />

was an LSAMP scholar. He researched The Spirituality,<br />

Gender, and Cardiovascular Reactivity to Stress. He<br />

presented his research at the ERN conference, and at the<br />

Virginia Psychological Association Convention.<br />

William Person is a junior student in Manufacturing<br />

Engineering program in Virginia State<br />

University. He was an LSAMP scholar who<br />

worked on energy-efficient house by<br />

studying energy lost from windows. His<br />

findings were presented in undergraduate<br />

research conference. Currently, Mr. Person<br />

is working on sun-tracker for improving<br />

efficiency of solar panels in harvesting<br />

solar energy.<br />

Micahel Westbrook graduated May 2010 with a degree in<br />

Bachelor of Science in Computer<br />

Engineering. He is currently pursuing<br />

his Masters in Electronic Engineering<br />

at Norfolk State University and will<br />

graduate in May 2012.<br />

Tierra Alvin graduated from Virginia State University in<br />

May of 2009 with a B.S. degree in Biology. She was 2006-<br />

2007 LSAMP scholar and together Wirh Ms. Bridgers,<br />

conducted research on bunchgrass lizard<br />

biology in Arizona, resulting in a<br />

publication in the peer reviewed journal<br />

Herpetological Review.<br />

Naseer Conway is a junior student in Manufacturing<br />

Engineering program in Virginia State University. He was an<br />

LSAMP scholar who worked on Centrifugal casting. He<br />

fabricated several parts under different<br />

conditions and measured physical and<br />

mechanical properties to find optimum<br />

manufacturing process condition. He<br />

presented his findings in this area in few<br />

undergraduate conferences.<br />

Myishia Cowell is a Junior Computer Engineering student at<br />

Virginia State University. As an<br />

LSAMP scholar,she works on the<br />

creation of a standard operating<br />

procedure for the QC5000 printed circuit<br />

boards.<br />

Jennifer Leach graduated from Virginia State University in<br />

December 2010 with a degree in Bachelor of Science in<br />

Chemistry. Jennifer has been admitted to a graduate school<br />

but deffered her enrollment until next<br />

Fall.<br />

Oneil Paul is a senior Computer<br />

Engineering student and will<br />

graduate from Virginia State<br />

University in May 2012.
