Jonathan Blair (’13) is a junior at Purdue University West<br />

Lafayette in Mathematics. Jonathan feels that studying<br />

Mathematics develops your ability to<br />

solve problems and prepares individuals<br />

for the rigor of Graduate Studies or<br />

industry. Upon graduating, Jonathan<br />

plans to pursue a Master’s degree in<br />

Statistics or Operations Research and<br />

possibly pursue a Ph.D.<br />

Lamira Bland (’14) is a sophomore at<br />

Purdue University West Lafayette and is<br />

studying Electrical and Computer<br />

Engineering Technology. Post-graduation,<br />

she intends to pursue a career in digital<br />

systems.<br />

Kimberly Branch (’14) is a sophomore at<br />

Purdue University West Lafayette and is<br />

studying Electrical and Computer<br />

Engineering Technology. Post-graduation,<br />

she intends on working at a large computer<br />

company and making contributions to the<br />

newest technology.<br />

AnnDrea Butler (’14) is a sophomore at<br />

Purdue University West Lafayette studying<br />

Chemical Engineering. Post-graduation, she<br />

intends on obtaining her M.B.A.<br />

Kirk Cahill (’11) graduated Phi Beta<br />

Kappa from Indiana University<br />

Bloomington with a degree in<br />

Biochemistry. Kirk participated several<br />

times as a peer mentor and tutor for<br />

LSAMP while attending IU. In fall<br />

2011, he matriculated to the Pritzker<br />

School of Medicine at the University of<br />

Chicago on a full-tuition scholarship.<br />

Jeffrey Capati (’08) graduated from Indiana University<br />

Bloomington with Honors in Biology in<br />

2008, then earned a M.S. in Biology from<br />

Indiana University-Purdue University<br />

Indianapolis in 2009. While at IU<br />

Bloomington, Jeff mentored freshmen<br />

LSAMP scholars as they started their<br />

university careers. Currently, he is<br />

attending the West Virginia School of<br />

Osteopathic Medicine to become a<br />

physician.<br />

Catherine Chung (‘12) is studying biology<br />

and French at Indiana University<br />

Bloomington. She is a Hudson & Holland<br />

Scholar, and she has conducted research for<br />

Eli Lilly and Company, participating in the<br />

Summer Replacement Program. Additionally,<br />

she studied abroad in southern France during<br />

the spring semester of 2011 in Aix-en-<br />

Provence. Catherine plans on attending<br />

medical school in the fall of 2012.<br />

Hannah Cook ('14) is studying chemistry at<br />

Indiana University Bloomington. She is a Hudson<br />

& Holland Scholars Program recipient, and during<br />

the summer of 2011, she participated in a study<br />

abroad trip to Ghana, Africa. Hannah plans on<br />

attending dental school upon her graduation.<br />

Garry Cooper (’07) earned a double-major in<br />

Mathematics (B.S.) and Chemistry (B.A.) from<br />

Indiana University Bloomington in 2007.<br />

Currently, Garry is studying for a Ph.D. in<br />

Neuroscience from Northwestern University in<br />

their Interdepartmental Neuroscience (NUIN)<br />

Program with the Feinberg School of Medicine.<br />

While at IU, he did extensive research resulting<br />

in the paper “The murine p8 gene promoter is activated by<br />

activating transcription factor 4 (ATF4) in the gonadotropederived<br />

LT2 cell line” (2006) Endocrine 30, 81-91. Additionally,<br />

Garry served as a tutor for LSAMP students during his time at IU.<br />

De’Ja Dasent (’15) is a freshman at Purdue<br />

University West Lafayette, majoring in<br />

Computer and Information Technology. She<br />

participated in Purdue’s Academic Boot<br />

Camp, funded in part by LSAMP Indiana.<br />

De’Ja plans to work for the National Security<br />

Agency post-graduation.<br />

Evan Dominguez ('14) is studying chemistry at<br />

Indiana University Bloomington. He is part of<br />

the Hutton Honors College, Hudson & Holland<br />

Scholars Program, and serves as President for<br />

the Thirst Project at IU. After graduation, Evan<br />

plans on attending medical school.<br />

Brittnee Dumas (’12) is a senior at Indiana<br />

University Purdue University Indianapolis and is<br />

studying Computer Information Technology.<br />

Post-graduation, she intends to pursue a career in<br />

the field.<br />

Keegan Dunn (’12) is a senior studying<br />

Natural Resource and Environmental<br />

Engineering at Purdue University West<br />

Lafayette. He participated in the LSAMP<br />

Summer 2009 Research program, and postgraduation,<br />

he plans to work for a company<br />

that produces biofuel.<br />
