Angela Amador (’13) is a junior at Purdue<br />

University West Lafayette, studying Electrical<br />

Engineering. Post-graduation, Angela plans to<br />

pursue a career in the power industry.<br />

Tynese Anderson (’07) graduated from the<br />

Indiana University School of Medicine in the<br />

spring of 2011. She earned a degree in<br />

Biology from Indiana University<br />

Bloomington in 2007.<br />

Daniel Anez (’13) is a junior studying<br />

Mechanical Engineering at Indiana University<br />

Purdue University Indianapolis. After obtaining<br />

work experience, Daniel plans on pursuing a<br />

Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.<br />

Miracle Anokwute (’12) is studying for his B.S. degree in<br />

Biology and minors in Chemistry and Psychology at IU Northwest.<br />

Miracle plans on applying to medical<br />

schools next year. At the Indiana<br />

University School of Medicine-NW, he is<br />

using LSAMP toward a project studying<br />

the age related changes of the corneal<br />

inneravation: implications for<br />

understanding “dry eye.” Miracle is also a<br />

Supplemental Instruction leader for Biology and participated in the<br />

2011 International Human Cadaver Prosection Program at IU<br />

Northwest. The LSAMP grant has given hm the opportunity to<br />

apply the concepts that he has learned in his subject area and to<br />

interact with experts in his field of study.<br />

Kevin Armendariz (’07) earned a B.S. in<br />

Biochemistry from Indiana University in<br />

2007. He is currently studying for a<br />

Ph.D. in Chemistry at the University<br />

Kansas. Kevin was active in numerous<br />

LSAMP programs while an<br />

undergraduate, serving both as a peermentor<br />

and tutor for challenging<br />

chemistry courses.<br />

Nigam Arora (’11) came to IUPUI to study<br />

biology and chemistry focused on renewable<br />

energy and graduated with a B.A. from the Honors<br />

College in 2011 with a major in Interdisciplinary<br />

Studies and a minor in Chemistry. Arora is<br />

currently in his Ph.D. program at Purdue<br />

University, West Lafayette, pursuing his research<br />

interest in renewable energy.<br />

Jeremiah Ashe (’07) graduated from the Indiana<br />

University School of Medicine in the spring of<br />

2011. He graduated from Indiana University<br />

Bloomington in 2007 with a degree in Biology.<br />

While at IU, Jeremiah worked extensively with<br />

young LSAMP scholars serving as a peer mentor<br />

for several semesters.<br />

Cornelius Audu (’12) is currently attending IUPUI<br />

working towars a B.S. in Chemistry. Cameron’s<br />

research interests includes Chemical Informatics,<br />

and he plans to pursue a PhD upon graduation.<br />

Markell Baldwin (’13) is currently a junior at Purdue University<br />

West Lafayette studying Electrical<br />

Engineering. During an internship with<br />

Marathon Petroleum, Markell was<br />

inspired to further his education beyond<br />

the baccalaureate. After graduation, he<br />

plans to become a Professional Engineer<br />

and aspires to obtain a career with the<br />

EPA to implement standards and<br />

regulations for creating a cleaner and healthier tomorrow for our<br />

nation.<br />

Dina Bastwaros (’08) served in numerous LSAMP programmatic<br />

capacities while an undergraduate at Indiana<br />

University Bloomington. She was a peermentor<br />

for many semesters and provided<br />

tutoring in organic chemistry for LSAMP<br />

scholars. Dina graduated with a degree in<br />

Biology in 2008 and is currently a medical<br />

student at the Indiana University School of<br />

Medicine.<br />

David Beal (’07) earned a B.A. in chemistry from Indiana<br />

University Bloomington in 2007. He immediately began the<br />

MEDPREP program at Southern Illinois University in Carbondale.<br />

Currently, David is studying for an M.D. at the Stritch School of<br />

Medicine at Loyola University in Chicago.<br />

Emmanuel Bikorimana (’12) is a senior at<br />

Indiana University Purdue University<br />

Indianapolis studying Biological Sciences. He<br />

participated in the LSAMP summer 2011<br />

Research program under the mentorship of Dr.<br />

Richard Gregory. Post-graduation, Emmanuel<br />

plans to attend graduate school in pursuit of a<br />

doctorate degree in Microbiology and<br />

Immunology.<br />

Dewayne Bishop (’12) is a senior at Purdue<br />

University West Lafayette studying<br />

Aerospace Engineering. Post-graduation, he<br />

plans on using his skills to design vehicles for<br />

space flight.
