Sean Wint earned his B.S. in Electrical<br />
Engineering from the University of<br />
Louisville in 2010, and he received the<br />
2010-12 LSAMP Bridge to the Doctorate<br />
Fellowship at the University of Maryland,<br />
College Park (UMD). Currently, he is an<br />
M.S. student in Telecommunications at<br />
UMD. During the summers, he interns at Lexmark in<br />
Kentucky. He plans to work in the field of nanotechnology<br />
and telecommunications.<br />
Jarred Alexander Young earned his<br />
B.S. in Aerospace Engineering from<br />
the University of Maryland, College<br />
Park (UMD) in 2009. As an<br />
undergraduate, he was in the LSAMP<br />
Undergraduate Research Program<br />
conducting research on Plasma<br />
Actuator technology with the UMD<br />
Space Power and Propulsion Lab (SPPL) under the guidance<br />
of Dr. Raymond Sedwick. He also was a member of the world<br />
champion teams for both the 2009 NASA RASC-AL and the<br />
2009 CanSat Competition Teams representing Maryland. He<br />
received the LSAMP the Bridge to the Doctorate Fellowship.<br />
Currently, he is third-year Ph.D. student in Aerospace<br />
Engineering at UMD, and he is conducting research on highenergy<br />
propulsion plume impingement on spacecraft materials<br />
with the SPPL as a National Minority STEM Fellow.<br />
Kavita P. Krishnaswamy earned both<br />
her B.S. in Mathematics and her B.S. in<br />
Computer Science from the University of<br />
Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC) in<br />
2007. Moreover, she graduated with a<br />
perfect 4.0 grade point average. She was<br />
awarded the 2009-11 LSAMP Bridge to<br />
the Doctorate Fellowship at UMBC, and<br />
she currently is a Ph.D. student in<br />
Computer Science. Subsequently, she was awarded a<br />
prestigious Ford Foundation Predoctoral Fellowship, an NSF<br />
Graduate Research Fellowship, and an Access Computing<br />
Internship to support the completion of her doctoral program.<br />
She has conducted and presented research entitled Path<br />
Planning of a Robotic Arm in Real-Time.<br />
Nerg D. Achirimofor earned her<br />
B.S. in Biological Sciences from the<br />
University of Maryland, Baltimore<br />
County (UMBC) in 2010. In<br />
addition to being an undergraduate<br />
LSAMP Scholar, she also was a<br />
MARC U*STAR Scholar. Also as<br />
an undergraduate at UMBC, she conducted research in lab of<br />
Howard Hughes Medical Institute Investigator, Michael F.<br />
Summers, Ph.D. She is currently enrolled in a Ph.D. program<br />
at the University of Virginia.<br />

Rachel Addo earned her B.S. in Chemistry<br />
from the University of Maryland Eastern<br />
Shore. Currently, she is a Ph.D. student<br />
conducting research on the role of beta 2<br />
cleavage in PCa cell motility in the lab of<br />
her advisor, Robert A. Sikes, Ph.D., in the<br />
Department of Biological Sciences at the University of<br />
Delaware.
