Aiman Nawari (’14) is a sophomore at<br />
Purdue University West Lafayette. He is<br />
studying Biological Engineering, and in<br />
2011 he participated in the LSAMP<br />
Summer Research program. Postgraduation,<br />
Aiman plans to further his education in a graduate<br />
program of study.<br />
Vivien Nsonwu (’14) is a sophomore at Indiana<br />
University studying human biology. She is<br />
currently involved with the Circle K of IU<br />
group, the Minority Association for Pre-Medical<br />
Students (MAPS), the National Society of<br />
Collegiate Scholars (NSCS), and the Hudson &<br />
Holland Scholars Program (HHSP). After<br />
graduating from Indiana University, she plans to<br />
attend medical school with hopes of becoming a pediatrician.<br />
Hector Ochoa (’13) is a junior at Purdue<br />
University West Lafayette pursuing a degree<br />
in Nutrition Science. Hector wants to conduct<br />
research in the area of Preventative Medicine<br />
in relation to nutrition. Post-graduation,<br />
Hector plans to pursue a Ph.D. in Nutrition<br />
Science. Hector’s long-term goal is to serve<br />
humanity by providing simple knowledge of the human body,<br />
food, and vitamins to ensure healthier lifestyles.<br />
Brianna Owens-Boatwright (’12) is a senior<br />
studying Materials Engineering at Purdue<br />
University West Lafayette. She participated in<br />
the 2008 and 2011 LSAMP Summer Research<br />
programs, and post-graduation, her plans<br />
include attending graduate school.<br />
Rhoda Owolabi (’10) graduated from IUPUI<br />
in 2010 with a B.A in Biology with a minor in<br />
Chemistry. Rhoda is a recipient of the<br />
Woodrow Wilson Indiana Teaching<br />
Fellowship and earned a M.S in Science<br />
Education in 2011.<br />

Maria Palmerin (’11) graduated from<br />
Indiana University Northwest with a B.S. in<br />
Biology in 2011. With the support of the<br />
LSAMP, Maria worked with the Biology<br />
Department of IU Northwest in doing a<br />
research project on plant richness and<br />
restoration activity in eight different sites of<br />
Northwest Indiana.<br />
Braylon Parham (’13) is a junior at Purdue<br />
University pursuing a degree in Electrical<br />
and Computer Engineering Technology<br />
(ECET). Braylon chose to study ECET<br />
because he has always has an interest in the<br />
functionality of electronics. Braylon aspires to one day develop an<br />
electronic device that will make everyday life easier. Postgraduation,<br />
Braylon plans to pursue a Master’s Degree in ECET.<br />

Kevin Parikh ('12) is a senior at Indiana<br />
University majoring in entrepreneurship and<br />
corporate innovation through the Kelley School<br />
of Business with minors in both biology and<br />
chemistry. In addition to a Hudson & Holland<br />
Scholar, he is both a student of the Hutton<br />
Honors College and Kelley Honors Program. He<br />
is the captain of IUs’ Raas dance team, and is<br />
president of Sigma Beta Rho. He plans on continuing his education<br />
at medical school this upcoming fall.<br />
Gabriel Pirtle (’13) is a junior at Purdue University West<br />
Lafayette pursuing a degree in Mechanical<br />
Engineering. Gabriel has always had an<br />
interest in the way machines and<br />
electronics work. Gabriel believes that as<br />
an engineer, he will be able to solve new<br />
problems in industry. He plans to apply for<br />
graduate school at Purdue University and<br />
further his studies in law after obtaining his Master’s degree.<br />
Daniel Popoola (’12) is a senior at Indiana<br />
University Purdue University Indianapolis. He<br />
is currently studying Biological Sciences and<br />
intends on working on research in the field of<br />
Neuroscience with the National Institutes of<br />
Health. He will enroll in Medical school in<br />
2013.<br />
Bruno Prentice-Webb (’13) is a junior at Purdue<br />
University West Lafayette majoring in<br />
Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering. Postgraduation,<br />
he plans on obtaining an MBA and<br />
then pursuing a career in this field.<br />
Melanie Quest (13') is studying human biology<br />
and studio art at IU Bloomington. She is a Hudson<br />
& Holland Scholar, Hutton Honors Scholar, and an<br />
ambassador for “Smiles Change Lives.” Melanie<br />
plans on attending the Indiana University School<br />
of Dentistry after she graduates.<br />
Christiana Rachal (’13) is a junior at<br />
Indiana University Bloomington, and is<br />
majoring in Computer Science. Christiana<br />
has participated in the Hudson & Holland<br />
Scholars Program and plans to pursue a<br />
career in Information Security.<br />
Trevy Ramos (’07) studies medicine at the West<br />
Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine in<br />
Lewisburg, West Virginia. While at Indiana<br />
University Bloomington, she mentored LSAMP<br />
freshmen in their peer mentoring program and<br />
earned a B.A. in Biology in 2007. Following her<br />
graduation from IU, Trevy entered a M.S.<br />
program in Biology at Indiana University-Purdue<br />
University Indianapolis and received her degree<br />
in 2008.
