Sarah Obadina earned her B.S. in<br />
Mechanical Engineering at the<br />
University of Maryland, College Park<br />
(UMD) in 2009. She was awarded<br />
the 2010-12 LSAMP Bridge to the<br />
Doctorate Fellowship. Currently, she<br />
is an M.S. student in Mechanical<br />
Engineering at UMD. Her career<br />
goals are to work in the areas of<br />
energy, heat transfer, and fluid mechanics.<br />
Nyamekye Obeng-Adjei earned his<br />
B.S. in Chemistry from the University<br />
of Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES) in<br />
2007. While at UMES, he gained<br />
undergraduate research experience<br />
during when he participated in the<br />
National Institute on Aging Intramural<br />
Research Program Summer Student<br />
Program. He recently published an<br />
article entitled Immunogenicity of novel<br />
consensus-based DNA vaccines against Hepatitis B core<br />
Antigen in the Journal of Immunology. Currently, he is<br />
enrolled in a Ph.D. program in Pharmacology at the University<br />
of Pennsylvania, and he expects to graduate in 2013.<br />
Oyindamola O. Oladosu earned her B.S.<br />
in Biology from the University of<br />
Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES) 2008.<br />
While at UMES, she gained valuable<br />
undergraduate research experience during<br />
the two summers that she participated in<br />
the National Institute on Aging Intramural<br />
Research Program Summer Student<br />
Program. Currently, she is enrolled in a<br />
Ph.D. program in the Department of Biochemistry, Cellular<br />
and Molecular Biology at The Johns Hopkins University.<br />
Oluwabori Oludemi is a junior<br />
majoring in Computer Science and<br />
Mathematics at the University of<br />
Maryland, College Park where he<br />
participates in the LSAMP<br />
Undergraduate Research Program.<br />
His research project is titled,<br />
Creating an Application for an<br />
Android Device. Also, he is a<br />
math tutor, and he has held several leadership positions. After<br />
graduation, he plans to pursue an M.S. in cyber security.<br />
Camelia L. Owens, Ph.D. earned her<br />
B.S.E. magna cum laude in Chemical<br />
Engineering from the University of<br />
Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC) in<br />
1999. She completed her Ph.D. program<br />
in Chemical Engineering at the<br />
University of Delaware in 2005. She<br />
returned to UMBC for a short time and<br />
taught in the Department of Chemical Engineering. Her<br />
previous research positions include: AAAS Science &<br />
Technology Policy Fellow/National Institutes of<br />
Health/Immediate Office of the Director; Exxon Mobil<br />
Scholar-In-Residence/National Academy of Engineering; and<br />
Center for the Advancement of Scholarship on Engineering<br />
Education. Currently, she is employed by the Office of<br />
Regulatory Affairs at the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.<br />
Nnadozie Onunkwo, Ph.D. earned his<br />
B.S. cum laude in Computer Engineering<br />
from the University of Maryland,<br />
Baltimore County (UMBC) in 2006.<br />
While still an undergraduate at UMBC, he<br />
gained invaluable experience when he<br />
completed a summer internship at the<br />
University of Colorado, Bolder, and also<br />
worked one summer as a Software<br />
Engineer for IBM. He completed his<br />
Ph.D. program in Biomedical Engineering at Purdue<br />
University in 2010. His research focused on improving the<br />
long-term functionality of neuroprosthetic devices by<br />
mitigating the brain's injury response to microelectrode<br />
implantation. Currently, he is employed as a Product<br />
Development Engineer at Cook Biotec.<br />
Chimeziri E. Onyewu earned his B.S.<br />
cum laude in Mathematics from the<br />
University of Maryland, Baltimore<br />
County (UMBC) in 2011. While an<br />
undergraduate at UMBC, he gained<br />
valuable experience when he conducted<br />
summer research at the Stevens Institute<br />
of Technology. Currently, he is enrolled in a Ph.D. program<br />
in the Department of Industrial Engineering at the University<br />
of Pittsburgh.<br />
Abena A. Osei-Wusu, M.D. earned her<br />
B.S. cum laude in Biochemistry and<br />
Molecular Biology from the University of<br />
Maryland, Baltimore County in 1999.<br />
She also graduated with Departmental<br />
Honors. She completed her M.D.<br />
program in 2003 at the University of<br />
Maryland School of Medicine. Currently,<br />
she is a Board Certified physician practicing internal medicine<br />
in Baltimore, Maryland.<br />
