Dinari A. Harris, Ph.D. earned his<br />
B.S. cum laude in Biochemistry and<br />
Molecular Biology with a minor in<br />
Psychology from the University of<br />
Maryland, Baltimore County in 1999.<br />
He received the United Negro College<br />
Fund Merck Graduate Science<br />
Research Dissertation Fellowship for<br />
2002-2003. He completed his Ph.D.<br />
program at the University of Michigan<br />
in 2004. He received the prestigious honor of being named a<br />
Damon Runyon Cancer Researcher, and he conducted<br />
postdoctoral research in the Carthew Lab in the Department of<br />
Molecular Biosciences at Northwestern University. Currently,<br />
he is a researcher at the National Institutes of Health in<br />
Bethesda, MD.<br />
Belinda R. Hauser earned her B.S. in<br />
Biology from the University of<br />
Maryland Eastern Shore. She<br />
presented a poster at the meeting of the<br />
American Association for Cancer<br />
Research in 2008. She was awarded a<br />
2006-08 LSAMP Bridge to Doctorate<br />
Fellowship at Howard University. She<br />
is a graduate teaching assistant for<br />
General Biology. Her current research focuses on DNA<br />
Alteration in tumorigenesis and its related biomarkers in head<br />
and neck squamous cell carcinomas (HNSCC). She has<br />
completed her M.S., and she currently is completing her Ph.D.<br />
program in Genetics and Human Genetics at Howard<br />
University.<br />
Brian D. Hayes earned his B.S. in<br />
Computer Engineering from the<br />
University of Maryland, College Park<br />
(UMD) in 2007. While at UMD, he<br />
participated in the LSAMP Summer<br />
Bridge Program, and conducted and<br />
presented research as part of the<br />
LSAMP Undergraduate Research<br />
Program. He also mentored and tutored undergraduate<br />
students as a part of other LSAMP programs. On a GEM<br />
Fellowship, he earned his M.S. from Georgia Tech in<br />
Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) in 2009.<br />
Currently, he is a graduate research assistant at Georgia Tech<br />
working on his Ph.D. in ECE where his focus is on parallel<br />
multi-core simulation techniques. His work has led to<br />
publications, presentations and other fellowships.<br />
Michael J. Hudson, M.D. earned his B.S.<br />
cum laude in Biological Sciences with a minor<br />
in Emergency Health Services from the<br />
University of Maryland, Baltimore County in<br />
2003. He completed his M.D. program at the<br />
University of Virginia in 2007.<br />

Bryan Henderson earned his B.S. in<br />
Mechanical Engineering from the<br />
University of Maryland, College Park<br />
(UMD) in 2009 and his M.S. in<br />
Product Development Engineering<br />
from the University of Southern<br />
California in 2010. While at UMD, he<br />
was passionate about helping other<br />
students to develop both academically and professionally. He<br />
served in numerous leadership positions in the National<br />
Society of Black Engineers. After interning multiple summers<br />
with Hewlett-Packard, he was able to combine his passion for<br />
technology, leadership, and helping others by starting a career<br />
in technology consulting with Accenture in Los Angeles, CA.<br />
Xavier Henry earned his B.S. in Aviation<br />
Science, Professional Pilot concentration<br />
from the University of Maryland Eastern<br />
Shore (UMES), and he earned his Private<br />
Pilot License in 2005. He completed his<br />
M.S. program in Natural Resource<br />
Management at UMES in 2011, and his<br />
thesis is titled Remote Sensing Technology<br />
to Improve the Agriculture and Reduce<br />
Negative Impacts. He has presented at numerous conferences.<br />
In 2011, he earned 1 st place in Sustainable Agriculture<br />
Systems, 16 th Symposium for the Association of Research<br />
Directors. Currently, he is a Ph.D. student in Food Science<br />
and Technology at UMES, and he is a research/teaching<br />
assistant in the Department of Engineering & Aviation<br />
Science and Natural Sciences. His research focus is bioenergy<br />
and how algae can create a new type of biofuel.<br />
Cimona V. Hinton, Ph.D. earned her<br />
B.S. in Chemistry from the University<br />
of Maryland Eastern Shore in 2000.<br />
She completed her Ph.D. program in<br />
Biomedical Sciences-Biochemistry at<br />
Meharry Medical College in 2005.<br />
She received both the Meharry<br />
Medical College Dean’s Award for<br />
Scientific Development and the American Association for<br />
Cancer Research (AACR) Minority Scholar in Cancer<br />
Research Award. She completed her postdoctoral fellowship<br />
in Experimental and Cancer Biology at the Harvard Medical<br />
School/Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in 2008. She is<br />
an American Association for Cancer Research 2010 Minority-<br />
Serving Institution Faculty Scholar. Currently, she is an<br />
Assistant Professor at the Center for Cancer Research and<br />
Therapeutic Development in the Department of Biological<br />
Sciences at Clark Atlanta University.<br />
Jessandra F. Hough earned her B.S. cum<br />
laude in Mechanical Engineering from the<br />
University of Maryland, Baltimore County in<br />
2011. She is currently enrolled in a Ph.D.<br />
program at the University of Michigan.
