Marcus Hines is a first<br />
year MD/PhD student at<br />
New York University<br />
School of Medicine. He<br />
graduated magna cum<br />
laude with High Honors<br />
from UGA with a B.S. in<br />
Cellular Biology in May<br />
2011. While at UGA, Marcus conducted<br />
research under the guidance of Dr. Michael<br />
Tiemeyer and Dr. Lance Wells and presented his<br />
research at a number of statewide and national<br />
conferences. As a Peach State LSAMP scholar,<br />
Marcus served as a summer mentor and tutor.<br />
Jamaal Parker is<br />

University as a<br />
Billiken Ignatian<br />
Scholarship recipient<br />
in the School of<br />
Public Health, where<br />
he is pursuing a<br />
Masters of Public Health in Biostatistics and<br />
Epidemiology. He earned a B.S. in Statistics and<br />
a Certificate in Leadership and Service from<br />
UGA in 2010. While at UGA, he provided data<br />
analysis for a study titled, Palm Pilots to Help<br />
People Quit Smoking with the College of Public<br />
Health. At Saint Louis University, he is a<br />
research assistant for health literacy and<br />
smokeless tobacco projects with the School of<br />
Public Health’s Behavioral Science and<br />
Biostatistics Departments. His anticipated<br />
graduation date is May 2012.<br />

Whitney Ingram is a first<br />
year Ph. D Student at the<br />
University of Georgia. She<br />
obtained her B.S. in<br />
Physics at the University of<br />
Georgia 2011. During her<br />
undergraduate career,<br />
Whitney participated as a<br />
LSAMP Research Scholar<br />
and officially worked as a mentor for African<br />
American females. She has won several awards<br />
for oral and poster presentations, and also<br />
completed a co-author publication, during her<br />
time as a LSAMP Research Scholar. Whitney<br />
interned for the US Army’s Night Vision and<br />
Electronic Sensor’s directorate research lab in<br />
Fort Belvoir, VA for two summers.<br />
Abimbola Ademola<br />
Dada is a first-year<br />
pharmacy student at<br />
the Albany College of<br />
Pharmacy and Health<br />
Science in Colchester,<br />
Vermont. She<br />
graduated from UGA<br />
with a B.S. degree in<br />
Biological Science in May 2010. While<br />
attending the University of Georgia, Abimbola<br />
was mentored by Dr. Paige Carmichael,<br />
Associate Dean of UGA’s College of Veterinary<br />
Medicine. As a Peach State LSAMP Scholar,<br />
she conducted research on CD8 T cells with Dr.<br />
Klonowski in the Cellular Biology department at<br />
UGA.<br />
