1.0 INTRODUCTION<br />

fundamentals <strong>of</strong> user interface design.<br />

3.1 USER INTERFACE<br />

The user interface (also known as Human Machine <strong>Interface</strong> (HMI) or Man-Machine<br />

<strong>Interface</strong> (MMI) is the aggregate <strong>of</strong> means by which people—the users—interact with the<br />

system—a particular machine, device, computer program or other complex tool.<br />

<strong>User</strong> <strong>Interface</strong> is the point at which a user or a user department or organization interacts<br />

with a computer system. The part <strong>of</strong> an interactive computer program that sends<br />

messages to <strong>and</strong> receives instructions from a terminal user.<br />
