3.1 Deliver <strong>Appraisal</strong> Results<br />

Purpose<br />

Provide credible appraisal results that can be used to guide actions. Represent<br />

the strengths and weaknesses of the processes in use at the time. Provide<br />

ratings (if planned <strong>for</strong>) that accurately reflect the capability level or maturity<br />

level of the processes in use.<br />

Entry Criteria • Objective evidence has been validated (through the team process).<br />

• Preliminary findings have been validated.<br />

• Ratings have been determined (<strong>for</strong> model components selected <strong>for</strong> rating).<br />

• Final findings have been created and reviewed by the team.<br />

Outcome • The sponsor and the appraised organizational unit are provided with the<br />

results of the appraisal.<br />

• A valid and reliable characterization of the current state of the processes<br />

in use across the organizational unit is documented.<br />

Exit Criteria • <strong>Appraisal</strong> results are delivered to the appraisal sponsor and organizational<br />

unit.<br />

• An executive session is conducted, if appropriate.<br />
