The individual, internal or external to the organization being appraised,<br />

Selection of options within the appraisal method <strong>for</strong> use in a specific<br />

instance. The intent of tailoring is to assist an organization in<br />

appraisal<br />

team leader<br />

The person who leads the activities of an appraisal and has satisfied<br />

the qualification criteria <strong>for</strong> experience, knowledge, and skills<br />

artifact<br />

A tangible <strong>for</strong>m of objective evidence indicative of work being per<strong>for</strong>med<br />

that is a direct or indirect result of implementing a <strong>CMMI</strong><br />

An appraisal that an organization does to and <strong>for</strong> itself <strong>for</strong> the purposes<br />

An appraisal by a trained team of professionals used as a<br />

discriminator to select suppliers, <strong>for</strong> contract monitoring, or <strong>for</strong><br />

incentives. Evaluations are used to gain insight into the process<br />

capability of a supplier organization and are intended to help<br />

decision makers make better acquisition decisions, improve<br />

subcontractor per<strong>for</strong>mance, and provide insight to a purchasing<br />
