This activity is concerned with the identification and estimation of resources<br />

needed to carry out the appraisal. Resources include personnel, facilities,<br />

tools, and access to in<strong>for</strong>mation.<br />

• Identify appraisal team members.<br />

• Identify appraisal participants.<br />

• Identify equipment and facilities.<br />

• Identify other appraisal resources needed.<br />

• Document resource decisions in the appraisal plan.<br />

The level of detail in the identification of needed resources must be sufficient<br />

to support the creation of the appraisal plan. For example, the appraisal team<br />

leader must identify<br />

• the names of people who are candidates <strong>for</strong> interviews or appraisal team<br />

membership<br />

• the organizational or project affiliation of these people<br />

• the location, seating capacity, and configuration of rooms to be used by<br />

the team<br />

• specific equipment needed (e.g., overhead projector, laptop projector,<br />

video-conferencing)<br />

Several months be<strong>for</strong>e the appraisal, tour the facility where the appraisal will<br />

be held.<br />

Assign an individual from the appraised organization to carry out the duties of<br />

the Organizational Unit Coordinator (administrative and logistical support;<br />

see activity 1.3.2.)<br />
