Exhaust Valve Air Spring Pipes<br />

The exhaust valve <str<strong>on</strong>g>is</str<strong>on</strong>g> opened hydraulically by the<br />

Fuel Injecti<strong>on</strong> Valve Actuator (FIVA) system which<br />

<str<strong>on</strong>g>is</str<strong>on</strong>g> activated by the Engine C<strong>on</strong>trol System, and<br />

the closing force <str<strong>on</strong>g>is</str<strong>on</strong>g> provided by an ‘air spring’<br />

which leaves the valve spindle free to rotate.<br />
