<strong>MAN</strong> <strong>Diesel</strong>’s recommendati<strong>on</strong>s for shop trial,<br />
quay trial and sea trial are <str<strong>on</strong>g>available</str<strong>on</strong>g> <strong>on</strong> <strong>request</strong>.<br />
An additi<strong>on</strong>al test <str<strong>on</strong>g>is</str<strong>on</strong>g> required for measuring the NO x<br />
em<str<strong>on</strong>g>is</str<strong>on</strong>g>si<strong>on</strong>s, for plants with FPP or CPP, EoD 4 06<br />
060a or 4 06 060b respectively.<br />
Spare Parts<br />
L<str<strong>on</strong>g>is</str<strong>on</strong>g>t of spares, unrestricted service<br />
The tendency today <str<strong>on</strong>g>is</str<strong>on</strong>g> for the classificati<strong>on</strong> societies<br />
to change their rules such that required spare<br />
parts are changed into recommended spare<br />
parts.<br />
<strong>MAN</strong> <strong>Diesel</strong>, however, has decided to keep a<br />
set of spare parts included in the basic extent<br />
of delivery (4 87 601 and 4 87 602) covering the<br />
requirements and recommendati<strong>on</strong>s of the major<br />
classificati<strong>on</strong> societies, see Secti<strong>on</strong> 19.06.<br />
<str<strong>on</strong>g>Th<str<strong>on</strong>g>is</str<strong>on</strong>g></str<strong>on</strong>g> amount <str<strong>on</strong>g>is</str<strong>on</strong>g> to be c<strong>on</strong>sidered as minimum<br />
safety stock for emergency situati<strong>on</strong>s.<br />
Additi<strong>on</strong>al spare parts recommended by<br />
<strong>MAN</strong> <strong>Diesel</strong><br />
The above�menti<strong>on</strong>ed set of spare parts can be<br />
extended with the ‘Additi<strong>on</strong>al Spare Parts Recommended<br />
by <strong>MAN</strong> <strong>Diesel</strong>’ (opti<strong>on</strong>: 4 87 603), which<br />
facilitates maintenance because, in that case, all<br />
the comp<strong>on</strong>ents such as gaskets, sealings, etc.<br />
required for an overhaul will be readily <str<strong>on</strong>g>available</str<strong>on</strong>g>,<br />
see Secti<strong>on</strong> 19.07.<br />
Wearing parts<br />
The c<strong>on</strong>sumable spare parts for a certain period<br />
are not included in the above menti<strong>on</strong>ed sets, but<br />
can be ordered for the first 1, 2, up to 10 years’<br />
service of a new engine (opti<strong>on</strong>: 4 87 629), a service<br />
year being assumed to be 6,000 running<br />
hours.<br />
The wearing parts supposed to be required, based<br />
<strong>on</strong> our service experience, are divided into 14<br />
groups, see Table A in Secti<strong>on</strong> 19.08, each group<br />
including the comp<strong>on</strong>ents stated in Tables B.<br />

Large spare parts, dimensi<strong>on</strong>s and masses<br />
The approximate dimensi<strong>on</strong>s and masses of the<br />
larger spare parts are indicated in Secti<strong>on</strong> 19.09.<br />
A complete l<str<strong>on</strong>g>is</str<strong>on</strong>g>t will be delivered by the engine<br />
maker.<br />
Tools<br />
L<str<strong>on</strong>g>is</str<strong>on</strong>g>t of standard tools<br />
The engine <str<strong>on</strong>g>is</str<strong>on</strong>g> delivered with the necessary special<br />
tools for overhauling purposes. The extent, dimensi<strong>on</strong>s<br />
and masses of the main tools <str<strong>on</strong>g>is</str<strong>on</strong>g> stated<br />
in Secti<strong>on</strong> 19.10. A complete l<str<strong>on</strong>g>is</str<strong>on</strong>g>t will be delivered<br />
by the engine maker.<br />
Tool Panels<br />
Most of the tools are arranged <strong>on</strong> steel plate panels<br />
(EoD 4 88 660) see Secti<strong>on</strong> 19.11 ‘Tool Panels’.<br />
It <str<strong>on</strong>g>is</str<strong>on</strong>g> recommended to place the panels close to the<br />
locati<strong>on</strong> where the overhaul <str<strong>on</strong>g>is</str<strong>on</strong>g> to be carried out.<br />
