• 0.75 hour running at 110% of specified MCR<br />

Governor tests, etc:<br />

• Governor test<br />

• Minimum speed test<br />

• Overspeed test<br />

• Shut down test<br />

• Starting and reversing test<br />

• Turning gear blocking device test<br />

• Start, stop and reversing from the Local<br />

Opera�ting Panel (LOP)<br />

Before leaving the factory, the engine <str<strong>on</strong>g>is</str<strong>on</strong>g> to be<br />

carefully tested <strong>on</strong> diesel oil in the presence of<br />

representatives of Yard, Shipowner, Classificati<strong>on</strong><br />

Society, and <strong>MAN</strong> <strong>Diesel</strong>.<br />

At each load change, all temperature and pressure<br />

levels etc. should stabil<str<strong>on</strong>g>is</str<strong>on</strong>g>e before taking new<br />

engine load readings.<br />

Fuel oil analys<str<strong>on</strong>g>is</str<strong>on</strong>g> <str<strong>on</strong>g>is</str<strong>on</strong>g> to be presented.<br />

All tests are to be carried out <strong>on</strong> diesel or gas oil.<br />

An additi<strong>on</strong>al test may be required for obtaining<br />

the ‘Engine Preventi<strong>on</strong>’ Certificate, which states<br />

that the engine complies with IMO NO x em<str<strong>on</strong>g>is</str<strong>on</strong>g>si<strong>on</strong><br />

limitati<strong>on</strong>s 4 06 060.<br />

An additi<strong>on</strong>al test <str<strong>on</strong>g>is</str<strong>on</strong>g> to be performed for: ‘Individual<br />

Engines’ and for ‘Parent Engines’ if the group<br />

certificate <str<strong>on</strong>g>is</str<strong>on</strong>g> not <str<strong>on</strong>g>available</str<strong>on</strong>g> � to be checked at <strong>MAN</strong><br />

<strong>Diesel</strong>.<br />

‘Member Engines’ to ex<str<strong>on</strong>g>is</str<strong>on</strong>g>ting ‘Parent Engines’ do<br />

not need an additi<strong>on</strong>al test.<br />

The tests, if required, are:<br />

E3, marine engine, propeller law for FPP 4 06 060a<br />

or<br />

E2, marine engine, c<strong>on</strong>stant speed for CPP<br />

4 06 060b.<br />
