Commissioning adalah kegiatan untukmendapatkan dan mendokumentasikanbukti bahwa fasilitas iradiasi dapatberkinerja secara konsisten dalam limityang telah ditetapkan sebelumnya biladioperasikan sesuai dengan spesifikasiproses. Dalam konteks ini, limit yangtelah ditetapkan adalah dosis maksimumdan minimum yang didesain untukdiserap oleh wadah iradiasi. Padapengoperasian fasilitas, tidak boleh adakemungkinan terjadi variasi pemberiandosis di luar limit tanpa sepengetahuanoperator.13. Commissioning hendaklah mencakuphal-hal di bawah ini:a. Desain;b. Commissioning is the exercise ofobtaining and documenting evidencethat the irradiation plant will performconsistently within predetermined limitswhen operated according to the processspecification. In the context of thisannex, predetermined limits are themaximum and minimum doses designedto be absorbed by the irradiationcontainer. It must not be possible forvariations to occur in the operation of theplant which give a dose to the containeroutside these limits without theknowledge of the operator.13. Commissioning should include thefollowing elements:a. Design;b. Dose mapping;c. Documentation; andd. Requirement for recommissioning.Gamma irradiatorsDesign14. The absorbed dose received by aparticular part of an irradiation containerat any specific point in the irradiatordepends primarily on the followingfactors:a) the activity and geometry of thesource;b) the distance from source tocontainer;c) the duration of irradiation controlledby the timer setting or conveyorspeed; andd) the composition and density ofmaterial, including other products,between the source and theparticular part of the container.Edisi 2009 - 94 - 2009 Edition
