Number of stray animals picked up 2,803.00 2,155.00 2,000.00HighlightsThe Mobile Spay/Neuter Clinic, also known as the "Pet Vet Cruiser" (PVC), is a state of the art veterinary clinic that offers low cost animalsterilizations as a strategy to eventually reduce the total number of unwanted animals born, sheltered and destroyed in <strong>Volusia</strong> <strong>County</strong>.The Mobile spay neuter bus travels to the unincorporated areas of <strong>Volusia</strong> <strong>County</strong> providing services to economically challengedcitizens. The PVC provides rabies vaccinations which results in a greater level of public saftey against the rabies disease. Additionally,participants receive educational materials that advocate responsible pet ownership and good veterinary care to ensure that citizens willcontinue with required rabies vaccinations and health care for the life of their pet. The PVC operates 5 days a week, 240 days a year withone veterinarian and two veterinarian assistants. Last year the PVC performed 2,369 surgeries.<strong>Volusia</strong> <strong>County</strong> Section F - 25
