The program provides an opportunity for youth to acknowledge responsibility fortheir actions and learn alternative behaviors. Additionally, the program provides valuable experiences for youth to act as jurors, bailiffs,clerks, prosecuting, and defense attorneys, who participate in the sentencing and its monitoring. Teen Court also motivates bothdefendants and student participants to make positive choices within their everyday life experiences and routines.The <strong>Volusia</strong> <strong>County</strong> Teen Court provides a forum for diverting less serious juvenile offenders from the traditional juvenile court process.Teen Court also provides a forum for juvenile offenders to accept responsibility for their actions and for student volunteers toparticipate in the operation of the program.The <strong>FY</strong> <strong>2010</strong>-<strong>11</strong> budget includes two unfunded positions.<strong>Volusia</strong> <strong>County</strong> Section F - 209
