The Lifeguards providebeach visitor protection and assistance primarily from portable lifeguard towers and also provide non-law enforcement lunch relief orstation positions during the off-season periods and summer season. Portable towers are strategically placed in areas of high batherconcentration.On March 18, 2010, the Volusia County Council eliminated the Hiring Incentive of $40,000 from Personal Services. Council also reducedthe number of work days by 3,009 resulting in a Personal Services reduction of $318,194.Volusia County Section F - 32
