Number of training hours conducted 460.00 320.00 360.00HighlightsThe Poll Worker Recruitment and Training Activity is responsible for recruiting, hiring, scheduling, and training poll workers for all city,county, state, and federal elections. A countywide election requires more than 1,800 poll workers receive training classes, which rangefrom two to eight hours. Florida Statutes 102.014 mandates the training of all poll workers prior to each election for the purpose ofinstructing individuals in their duties and responsibilities as election officials.The department is implementing a switch from the use of temporary county positions for elections to using employment agencycontracts for the poll workers. The budget reflects this change from personal services to operating expenses.<strong>Volusia</strong> <strong>County</strong> Section F - 138
