TOTAL COUNTY EXPENDITURESThe <strong>FY</strong> <strong>2010</strong>-<strong>11</strong> operating budget totals $594.8, a reduction of $19.4 million from the <strong>FY</strong> 2009-10 budget.In a budget as large and as complex as <strong>Volusia</strong> <strong>County</strong>’s, there are many increases and decreases inprograms that comprise this overall decrease. As the largest component of any organization, Personal Services totals $194.8 million,a decrease of $9.6 million, or -4.7%. A total of 212 Full-Time Equivalent (FTE) are unfunded, although stillauthorized, in the <strong>FY</strong> <strong>2010</strong>-<strong>11</strong> budget. This means no funding is provided for these specified positions,although they are still authorized to be filled in future years if funding permits.The chart on the following pages illustrates the changes in Full-Time, Part-Time and FTEs for the period<strong>FY</strong> 2009-10 through <strong>FY</strong> <strong>2010</strong>-<strong>11</strong> for both operating and non-operating funds. The <strong>FY</strong> <strong>2010</strong>-<strong>11</strong> budgetincludes 3,163.04 FTEs, comprised of 2,906 Full-Time positions and 752.75 Part-Time positions. Thisrepresents a decrease of 22.51 FTEs from 3,185.55 in <strong>FY</strong> 2009-10.<strong>Volusia</strong> <strong>County</strong> Section D - 17
