Department: Public ProtectionFire ServicesActivity: TrainingHighlightsDuring FY 2010-11 required training will focus specifically on field supervisors and command staff. The training will be conducted by theVolusia County Personnel Department, private vendors and fire division training personnel. Training will also focus on Division-widesafety training for all stations and administrative officers and completion of Fire Services officer candidate curriculum.The activity will continue to update and monitor our newly developed new hire/probationary orientation book. The procedures in thisbook will empower station officers to carry out the required training thus reducing the time required to complete our new hire academyfrom nine to five weeks and ultimately save overtime dollars and obtain 100% completion of the FY 2010-2011 objectives. Somepriorities are being shifted in order to work toward completion of mandated National Incident Management System (NIMS) training forall fire officers and continued countywide interagency training (Regional Fire Training Drills) with all fire departments within VolusiaCounty.Volusia County Section F - 182
