Percent of advocates retained annually 90.00 90.00 90.00HighlightsThe Florida Guardian Ad Litem program is a partnership of community advocates and professional staff partnering to provide a powerfulvoice in court and positive systematic change on behalf of Florida's abused and neglected children. Federal, state and localgovernment agencies, non-profit and faith-based organizations, private foundations and corporations are working together to supportthe efforts of the Guardian Ad Litem program. The program's sole responsibility is to represent the best interests of children who areinvolved in dependency court proceedings; every child appointed to the program is provided with an attorney. With this singlemission, the program is uniquely independent in its advocacy. We currently have more than 149 volunteers in Volusia County andrepresent more than 71% of the children in the local child welfare system. Collectively, the program's current certified volunteers haveprovided over 350 years of service. During the implementation of Article V, Revision 7 on July 1, 2004, the Guardian Ad Litem programwas removed from the judicial branch of the government.Volusia County Section F - 59
