Percentage of team members recruited from the municipalities 25.00 25.00 30.00HighlightsThe Mitigation/Disaster Management activity strives to respond to technical rescues. The activity also maintains Task Force Nine, theurban search and rescue team, which is one of only two Type III response teams statewide that can field floodwater rescues and lostpersonsearches. Team members have responded to disasters locally, regionally, and statewide (with a three-hour unit rolling time) andwith up to twenty-two personnel. The sixty-six person team is staffed by personnel from <strong>Volusia</strong> <strong>County</strong> Fire Services, Corrections, andBeach Safety, as well as fifteen members from city fire departments. Since 2004, the team has been mobilized five times to participate inhigh profile searches. The team responded to local calls for assistance from <strong>Volusia</strong> <strong>County</strong> Sheriff's Office and the DeLand PoliceDepartment, including a "live find" of an Alzheimer's patient who had been missing for 4 days. The team assisted with flooding issuesduring 2009 in Holly Hill and also responded to the state's request for assistance for flood water rescue in April 2009 in Hamilton<strong>County</strong>'s severe flooding of the Suwannee River.<strong>Volusia</strong> <strong>County</strong> Section F - 175
