<strong>MEGATRENDS</strong> <strong>AND</strong> <strong>MEDIA</strong><br />

RESEARCH THE <strong>MEDIA</strong> WORK IN THE CONTEXT<br />

OF IMPACT OF PSYCHOLOGICAL, PEDAGOGICAL,<br />

SOCIAL <strong>AND</strong> SPIRITUAL FACTORS<br />

ABSTRACT:<br />

The paper deals with qualitative research with elements of quantitative research<br />

the media work from view of psychological, pedagogical, social and spiritual<br />

aspects. Research sample was created of: 1. – Chosen mainstream TV and press<br />

and alternative internet media from Slovakia, Czech republic, Russia and Great<br />

Britain. 2. – 443 individual respondents from Slovakia and Czech republic.<br />

3. – 16 chosen media redactors from Slovakia and Czech republic. We found out<br />

that in Slovakia 38% respondents don´t trust media and 27% rather distrusts<br />

respondents media. Little bit more of respondents are taking medias as non –<br />

objective. Next we found out, that examined media are knowingly different<br />

in interpretations of the same subjects and stories. In relation with that we<br />

found out that these different interpretations are impacted by psychological,<br />

pedagogical, social and spiritual factors with researched redactors. These factors<br />

are showing up in individual reception and processing of information’s and<br />

stories by our brain.<br />

1 Introduction<br />

Medias play a crucial importance not only in shaping opinion, but also<br />

politics, values and the overall culture of the society. 1 They affect our<br />

lives, values thinking, spiritual attitudes and relations. 2 Therefore, it is<br />

important that we pay wide disciplinary attention to them. It is needed<br />

to scrupulously research activity of the media not only in terms of<br />

Mass Media and Politics, what is the traditional method, but also from<br />

the perspective of other disciplines, which they interact with, such<br />

as psychology, sociology, pedagogy. These allow us to reveal deeper<br />
