Internet Access and Other Facilities
Internet Access: The conference has arranged temporary wireless access through the university’s servers.
Log-in details are included in your conference pack (on the back of your name-badge). Please note that
access within buildings is uneven across the campus. The Seymour Centre requires a different log-in than
the rest of the campus.
Water: A water bottle is provided in your conference pack, and drinking water stations are located at
various points around campus, including on all floors of the Abercrombie building, where most sessions are
held.
Local Information: Your conference pack includes a map of the campus. You may also find the “University
of Sydney” and “Lost on Campus” apps useful for directions and making your way around the university
(available in Apple and Android formats). Your conference pack also includes guides from Sydney tourism
and the City of Sydney council which may help you navigate the city more broadly and choose activities
outside of the conference.
Groceries and Other Necessities: The campus is close to the King St, Newtown, shopping precinct, which
includes banks, chemists (pharmacies), smaller supermarkets, and many restaurants, pubs and bars. It is
also close to the large Broadway shopping centre (mall), which also includes banks and chemists, and
additionally a post office, a food court, and multiple supermarkets and other large retailers including those
which sell computer and electrical supplies and stationery. Broadway is marked on the website and app
maps, and the Newtown shopping district can be found by walking along City Rd in the opposite direction
from Broadway.
Other Questions: staff and volunteers working at the registration and information desk are happy to
answer your questions. The desk will be operating in the Seymour Centre every morning of the conference,
and during the last half hour of the final Seymour session each day it will close and move to the
Abercrombie building. In Abercrombie it will be located on Level 2, near the stairs, until the final ABS
session of the day, during which it will close for the day. You will also be able to identify volunteers
throughout the conference by their black shirts with a blue cross logo – feel free to ask them questions at
any time.
