These protocols are suitable <strong>for</strong> vegetative propagation, cryopreservation <strong>and</strong><br />

secondary metabolism studies. Ex situ storage procedures are now available <strong>for</strong> the<br />

medium- to long-term conservation <strong>of</strong> C. fissilis. They <strong>of</strong>fer new opportunities <strong>for</strong><br />

the conservation, sustainable management <strong>and</strong> utilization <strong>of</strong> this valuable fast<br />

growing timber tree.<br />
