shoot proliferation. Approximately 3–5 good quality, 16–20 mm long shoots, with<br />

well developed leaves (15–25 mm), are produced after 4 weeks in culture (Figure 3).<br />

The 8–15 µM level <strong>of</strong> BA in the medium is generally considered high, although it<br />

has been reported to be optimal <strong>for</strong> a number <strong>of</strong> related species including Prunus ×<br />

Hally Jolivette (Lineberger, 1983), Prunus cerasifera × Prunus munsoniana rootstocks<br />
