Der Arlberger Stil „Ski with Skardarasy!“ titelte einst eine neuseeländische Werbung im Juni 1936 in der Zeitung Table Talk. Dabei ging es um Franz Skardarasy, der dort als Pionier motivierten Skifahrern den Arlberger Stil lehrte. Über 80 Jahre später schwingt in mir, seinem Enkelsohn Benjamin Skardarasy, der selbe Pioniergeist und Elan – denn der Stil vom Arlberg hat sich im Grunde nicht verändert. Immer noch trifft Eleganz auf Sportlichkeit – und nicht zu vergessen auch auf großartige Genusskultur. Die verschiedenen Facetten dieses Stils zeigen sich in La Loupe. Mit viel Liebe zum Detail füllen wir unsere Ausgaben mit den spannendsten Geschichten und besten Insider-Tipps, und schenken so unseren Lesern ein Stück Lech Zürs. We have many regulars who were afraid that the renovation<br />
works would take away their memories of the Almhof.<br />
However, in spite of everything that’s new we received very<br />
positive feedback. We often heard that guests feel like the<br />
wood stayed the same, in spite of the changes.<br />
Home & Design<br />
L.L. At the ski hut Schneggarei everything is made from<br />
one type of wood – silver fir – and there are no metal fittings<br />
or weather strips. Consequently, the design is very different<br />
from the usual ski huts in the region.<br />
G.S. At Schneggarei the question was how to create a<br />
rustic feel without embracing all the clichés. In order to do<br />
that we consciously used the wood in a way<br />
that preserves its natural irregularities. Planks<br />
and beams where the rough edge is visible.<br />
The rough and the irregular ensures a strong<br />
connection with the country and it has a lot to<br />
do with the materials’ natural appearance –<br />
each piece has its own unique structure.<br />
K.S. At Schneggarei the rough material meets<br />
the refined – a beautiful contrast.<br />
L.L. With the meeting space Allmeinde Commongrounds<br />
you started a cultural initiative in<br />
<strong>Lech</strong>. How important is art and culture in the<br />
region?<br />
K.S. The idea behind Allmeinde is Gerold’s<br />
baby. Arts and culture are very important to<br />
both of us, no matter whether we’re travelling<br />
or in <strong>Lech</strong>. Arts and culture, that’s us. During our studies<br />
the topic always had an influence on us and now that we’re<br />
hosts and hotel owners it still does. Many guests also feel that<br />
arts and culture are important on the Arlberg – but of course<br />
we can’t reach everyone. All projects at Allmeinde lead to<br />
wonderful encounters and relations – no matter if it’s with<br />
artists or guests.<br />
