3.3.1 Campo Ma’an Faunal Reserve
3.3.1.1 Introduction
The Campo Ma’an Faunal Reserve (2°09’-2°53’N; 9°48’-10°25’E) was created by
decree on the 19th November 1932 and is situated in the South Province of Cameroon
(Gartlan, 1989). The Reserve covers an area of 271,160 ha and is bordered to the
north by the Lobé River, to the south by the Ntem River, which also marks the
political border with Equatorial Guinea, to the west by the Atlantic Ocean and to the
east by the Ntem River near to the rapids at Memve’ele (Sunderland et al., 1997).
