Distribution E. haullevilleana is restricted to the lowland forests of the Congo Basin. Unlike the majority of the rattan species, it is curiously absent from the coastal forest regions. Figure 14. In common with E. macrocarpa, it is a species of terra firme forest and is not associated with swamp vegetation.
