COURSE DESCRIPTIONS<br />
HEC V05A - INTRODUCTION TO INTERIOR DESIGN - 3 Units<br />
Hours: 3 lecture weekly<br />
This course introduces the elements and principles used in the<br />
planning and evaluation <strong>of</strong> interior design and applies them in space<br />
organization and in the selection <strong>of</strong> furniture, accessories, wall and<br />
floor coverings and lighting.<br />
Field trips may be required. Formerly HE 5A. Transfer credit: CSU.<br />
HEC V05B - APPLIED PRINCIPLES OF INTERIOR<br />
DESIGN - 3 Units<br />
Prerequisite: HEC V05A<br />
Recommended preparation: HEC V15<br />
Hours: 3 lecture weekly<br />
This course explores the applied elements and principles <strong>of</strong> design<br />
in a commercial design project. Advanced techniques in the planning<br />
and design <strong>of</strong> interior space are reviewed and applied. Design theory<br />
and the housing and interior design industries will be assessed. Also,<br />
pr<strong>of</strong>essional practices and career options will be investigated.<br />
Field trips will be required. Formerly HE 5B. Transfer credit: CSU.<br />
