MM V78 - VIDEO AND COMPUTER GAME CREATION - 3 Units<br />
Recommended preparation: MM V10 and MM V61 or equivalent; and<br />
computer fundamentals<br />
Hours: 6 lecture-laboratory weekly<br />
This course is designed to build an understanding <strong>of</strong> video game<br />
development and programming. Using computers, programming<br />
s<strong>of</strong>tware, video games, game controllers, graphic s<strong>of</strong>tware, and<br />
computer modeling and animation s<strong>of</strong>tware, students will explore,<br />
discuss and begin to create video games in a series <strong>of</strong> progressive<br />
exercises designed to develop aesthetic sensitivity and basic<br />
technical knowledge required to produce new and unique interactive<br />
materials and experiences.<br />

MM V80 - PROJECT-BASED WEB DEVELOPMENT - 3 Units<br />
Recommended preparation: basic English and math skills; and<br />
computer fundamentals<br />
Hours: 6 lecture-laboratory weekly<br />
This course is designed to introduce the basics <strong>of</strong> website<br />
development using graphics, text, animation and current computer<br />
s<strong>of</strong>tware. Students will preview how these essentials are organized<br />
in order to plan and construct websites, adding links, navigation,<br />
frames, and tables. Students will create a website, learn the delivery<br />
process, and learn how to access and work with a Web server.<br />

MM V82 - VECTOR-BASED ANIMATION - 3 Units<br />
Recommended preparation: basic English and math skills; and<br />
computer fundamentals including use <strong>of</strong> image processing s<strong>of</strong>tware<br />
Hours: 6 lecture-laboratory weekly<br />
This course is designed to introduce the basics <strong>of</strong> vectorbased<br />
animation principles to deliver low band-width animations,<br />
presentations, and websites. Students will preview how these<br />
essentials are used to construct games, add interfaces, create<br />
training courses and prepare streaming video.<br />

MM V88 - MULTIMEDIA WORKSHOPS - .5-10 Units<br />
Prerequisite: varies with topic<br />
Recommended preparation: basic English and math skills; and<br />
computer fundamentals<br />
Hours: lecture and/or laboratory as required by unit formula<br />
Designed to meet specific needs <strong>of</strong> the college and community as<br />
required and/or requested by persons whose needs in this area are<br />
not met by present course <strong>of</strong>ferings.<br />

This course <strong>of</strong>fers specialized study opportunities for students<br />
who wish to pursue projects not included in the regular curriculum.<br />
Students are accepted only by a written project proposal approved by<br />
the discipline prior to enrollment.<br />
Field trips may be required. May be taken for a maximum <strong>of</strong> 4<br />
times not to exceed 6 units.<br />
MM V95 - MULTIMEDIA INTERNSHIP I - 1-4 Units<br />
Corequisite: enrolled in a minimum <strong>of</strong> 7 units to include internship<br />
Recommended preparation: completion <strong>of</strong> or concurrent enrollment<br />
in one course in the discipline<br />
Hours: 60 per unit<br />
This course <strong>of</strong>fers students with who are volunteers (unpaid) an<br />
opportunity to obtain work experience related to their field <strong>of</strong> study.<br />
Students are accepted as a result <strong>of</strong> consultation with a designated<br />
faculty member in the discipline and the acceptance <strong>of</strong> an approved<br />
work proposal.<br />
Field trips will be required. May be taken for a maximum <strong>of</strong> 4<br />
times not to exceed 16 units total in combination with any other work<br />
experience/internship courses. Offered on a pass/no pass basis only.<br />
Transfer credit: CSU; credit limitations - see counselor.<br />
MM V96 - MULTIMEDIA INTERNSHIP II - 1-4 Units<br />
Corequisite: enrolled in a minimum <strong>of</strong> 7 units to include internship<br />
Recommended preparation: completion <strong>of</strong> or concurrent enrollment<br />
in one course in the discipline<br />
Hours: 75 per unit<br />
This course <strong>of</strong>fers students who are employed in the field an<br />
opportunity to expand their work experience related to their field<br />
<strong>of</strong> study. Students are accepted as a result <strong>of</strong> consultation with a<br />
designated faculty member in the discipline and the acceptance <strong>of</strong> an<br />
approved work proposal.<br />
Field trips will be required. May be taken for a maximum <strong>of</strong> 4<br />
times not to exceed 16 units total in combination with any other work<br />
