Fodder F r crop pproduc ction Turkey - Yem Bitkileri Yetiştiricciliği (Turkish) Production of ffodder crops every year bo oth for feedingg livestock an nd increasing so oil fertility. Fodder crops (mmaize, alfalfa, ssainfoin, comm mon vetch, triticcale, oat, fodde er beet, wheat an nd barley) are grown for hay production for livestock feeding. Growing fo odder crops is a part of sustainnable agriculture. The soil is protected in drry farming area as by covering th he soil surfacee and leguminnous fodder species (alfalfaa, sainfoin, com mmon vetch), which w increasess the soil fertilitty by nitrogen fixation. Applyying the techno ology does not re equire extra innputs different from other ag gricultural cropps. All that is needed is to id dentify a crop rootation plan inccluding fodder production andd regular agricu ultural crops. Different D fodder r crops (legumiineous and gra amineous plantts) are produce ed to feed the fa armers’ own livvestock.
