assignment is the same. Every language, every<br />
currency. So, it keeps us busy and a different<br />
challenge every day. And we do that with less than<br />
30 people, somehow.<br />
Luckily the bulk <strong>of</strong> the <strong>Department</strong>'s real<br />
estate transactions are day-to-day leasing <strong>of</strong><br />
housing overseas. We have thousands <strong>of</strong> those and<br />
those are happening all the time out in the<br />
embassies and, luckily, we don't have to get<br />
involved in all <strong>of</strong> those. Most <strong>of</strong> those happen<br />
within the embassies authority and shows up in a<br />
database and that's the involvement <strong>of</strong> OBO real<br />
estate.<br />
Where we come in is on every purchase,<br />
every sale, and in major relocations, major lease<br />
transactions, things where we can add value. So<br />
several years ago, we went from a geographically<br />
organized group to focus more on functional areas.<br />
So I have one group that does nothing but sells and<br />
decommissions properties. I have one group that<br />
only works on leasing property, one group that does<br />
nothing but site acquisition, and another one that<br />
busy existing properties like houses or buildings<br />
that we're going to buy, rather than build new.<br />
We personally negotiate many <strong>of</strong> those<br />
