d. Non-Allied Forces<br />

(1) Describe neutral forces <strong>and</strong> AD capabilities in or near the theater that could<br />

impact operations. Include general statement <strong>and</strong> any specific information about COAs <strong>and</strong><br />

WMD capabilities. Include air <strong>and</strong> sea routes, shipping lanes, location of SAM units, <strong>and</strong><br />

ATC information.<br />

(2) Describe noncombatants in or near the theater that could impact operations.<br />

Include information on shipping lanes <strong>and</strong> international air traffic, if known.<br />

2. Mission<br />

State the joint AD tasks <strong>and</strong> the purposes <strong>and</strong> relationships to achieving the AADC’s<br />

objectives.<br />

3. <strong>Air</strong> <strong>and</strong> <strong>Missile</strong> <strong>Defense</strong> Operations<br />

a. Intent<br />

b. CONOPS. Describe the CONOPS, including the mission assumptions, maintenance<br />

policies, <strong>and</strong> JOA within which the AADP applies.<br />

(1) AD organization—AD area, regions, <strong>and</strong> sectors identified, including<br />

boundaries. <strong>Air</strong> <strong>and</strong> surface sensors, shooters, <strong>and</strong> C2.<br />

(2) Provide or reference the list of critical assets to be defended (with asset<br />

criticality) with respect to campaign phase <strong>and</strong> timing within the campaign phase.<br />

(3) Designation of prioritized defended assets with their associated levels of<br />

protection as approved by the JFC. May include specific responsibilities of defending<br />

comm<strong>and</strong>er <strong>and</strong> allocation of forces.<br />

(4) AMD forces deployed locations overview.<br />

(5) Phases of air defensive operations in relation to the plan.<br />

(6) Timing <strong>and</strong> duration of phases.<br />

c. Coordinating Instructions<br />

(1) Describe the integrating policy, including the philosophy of the weapons<br />

control plan <strong>and</strong> interfaces between comm<strong>and</strong>ers at various levels. Include plans <strong>and</strong><br />

procedures for employing air control units <strong>and</strong> missile control units. Also include a list of<br />

vital areas <strong>and</strong> target priorities policy <strong>and</strong> guidance, as well as return to ship/base procedures.<br />

Generally describe the passive AMD warning responsibilities, including MNF <strong>and</strong> HN<br />

notifications, with reference to Appendixes 1 <strong>and</strong> 3, in Annex C (Operations) of the AADP.<br />
