short-range ballistic missile. A l<strong>and</strong>-based ballistic missile with a range capability up to<br />
about 600 nautical miles. Also called SRBM. (Approved for inclusion in <strong>JP</strong> 1-02.)<br />

simultaneous engagement. The concurrent engagement of hostile targets by combination<br />

space-based infrared system. A consolidated system for infrared space, air, <strong>and</strong> terrestrial<br />

to meet missile defense, missile warning <strong>and</strong> intelligence, surveillance, <strong>and</strong><br />
