4 – Waste disposal PackagesFigure 4.1.7Body mould for standard container (B2)The manufacturing processes used for prefabricated moulded fibrous concrete containers are alreadyused in the nuclear industry, where they have been used for more than 15 years. To date more than45 000 waste disposal containers have been delivered to the nuclear operators COGEMA and CEA.Furthermore, the technology used for moulded reinforced concrete containers has also been used formore than 15 years by EDF for collecting operational waste from French nuclear power plants, at arate of about 1 200 to 1 500 packages per year. The method of moulding containers for B type packages, described above, is already used bySOGEFIBRE, in particular for producing CBF-K type cubical containers. The manufacturing process is no different whether the body of the container is made simply withfibres or with fibres and reinforcement. The only difference is in the prior positioning of thereinforcement rods in the mould.Figure 4.1.8 and Figure 4.1.9 display the first operations performed to produce these demonstratorsand the first standard containers produced as a result.DOSSIER 2005 ARGILE -ARCHITECTURE AND MANAGEMENT OF A GEOLOGICAL DISPOSAL SYSTEM125/495
